Rileys press release & news article.
The Scottish Pool Association has teamed up with Rileys, the UK’s leading Pool and Snooker club operator.
This exciting new partnership will bring SPA members a package of special benefits.
Amongst these will be the opportunity to join a Rileys club free of charge.
In addition, on joining, SPA members will be able to take advantage of a 25% discount on all table play.
On behalf of the SPA, Ross McInnes said “I’m delighted we’ve created this partnership. It represents a major investment in Scottish pool. The benefits to our members will be tremendous and most importantly, long-term”.
This partnership comes as a result of plans made by Rileys to develop pool in Scotland. These plans include the introduction of many new ‘traditional’ pool tables in the sixteen Scottish Rileys clubs.
The first phase of this development is already complete with over twenty tables installed in clubs in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Penicuik.
But there’s much more !
Rileys will be holding a series of pools events throughout Scotland and the UK.
In conjunction with the SPA, Rileys will be providing sponsorship for this year’s Scottish National Singles Championship which boasts a £5,000 guaranteed prize fund.
Rileys is committed to supporting Scottish pool !
Along with the investment in new tables there will be other benefits for SPA members including the introduction of a new Scottish £5,000 team event.
Details will be released shortly of the Hainsworth £10,000 UK amateur 4-man tournament. Scotland will be allocated four of the sixteen places in the Grand Finals.
Rileys will be working closely with SPA officials to help develop many aspects of Scottish pool. This will include pool for ladies, youths and those with special needs.
Considerable effort will also be made to encourage grass roots participation.
Rileys have already secured sponsorship deals with individual pool leagues across Scotland.
Howard Miller, National Pool and Snooker Manager at Rileys, commented “This is an exciting development for Rileys. We have many clubs in Scotland and I’m certain this arrangement will benefit pool throughout the Country.
I’m delighted that this partnership gives me the chance to work closely with SPA representatives such as Ross McInnes and Mick McGoldrick. In my opinion the SPA are the best organised pool association in the UK and there’s so much we will be able to achieve by working together”.
